Horowitz: The Treasury is avenging the health care system because of corona spending
The outline for shortening the interns' shifts is expected to apply on April 1, but the health minister accuses the budget department in the Treasury of trying to thwart the move.

Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz claims that the budget department in the Ministry of Finance puts the health care system on wheels and does not allow it to act to promote public health.
Today (Wednesday) another meeting was held between the Ministry of Finance and the Budget Division and the Ministry of Health in an attempt to formulate the outline for shortening interns' shifts, but the gaps between the parties are still large and there is a chance that the entire outline did not materialize.
The outline for shortening shifts is expected to apply on April 1, in ten emergency medicine departments and internal wards in hospitals in the periphery, alongside two hospitals included in the social periphery in the center.
For the purpose of implementing the outline, the Ministry of Health is requesting 220 standards for staffing in hospitals.
The Ministry of Finance fears that the number of standards approved in the hospitals in the periphery will have a direct effect on the number of standards that will be requested for the second beat in the hospitals in the center.
The Ministry of Finance refuses to specify the number of standards they are willing to approve, both for the first time and for the second time, and thus the negotiations between the parties are stuck.

Horowitz claims that the attempt to dissolve the outline is related to further attempts by the budget department not to budget for additional health projects, such as the 45 beds promised to intensive care units in hospitals and other standards down the Corona, set up to monitor ‘between the waves’ morbidity and to keep vigilant from further outbreak.
