Damascus-SANA
The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection confirmed that it is continuing its campaign to prevent monopoly and strike against major monopolists, in conjunction with the provision of foodstuffs and commodities in the markets and through the Syrian Trade Corporation at reasonable prices, and its keenness to deal with every violator in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
The ministry indicated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it today that it is pursuing food monopolists, especially vegetable oils, as two warehouses were seized, the first in Lattakia, with 2.5 tons of oil, and the second in Tartous, with 30 tons of oil.
The ministry called for sending complaints about any case of unjustified price hikes or monopoly on the complaints pages assigned to the ministry or the directorates of internal trade and consumer protection in the governorates, provided that all complaints are addressed within a maximum period of 24 hours, stressing that the citizen is the ministry's partner in the success of the work.
