The leader of the Workers' Party (PT) makes his tour during the electoral campaign.

On October 2, Brazil will have to elect a president, and Lula leads the voting intention and is emerging as the only figure who can defeat Jair Bolsonaro.

Lula has become an emblem that the Latin American left embraces every chance it gets.

This time it was the Government of Mexico.

As the Executive shared on Twitter, this Wednesday's meeting was "between friendly politicians and social leaders who fight for the people and to achieve positive changes in Latin America and the world."

For his part, the foreign minister assured that Lula was "a great friend of Mexico and of the cause of justice."

“You begin a visit to our country, where you are loved and respected.

Very happy to see you among us, ”he shared on his social networks.

The former Brazilian president arrived at the National Palace in the morning accompanied by his team, who arrived in three vans escorted by the police.

López Obrador clarified that it was not a meeting of "the formal agenda" because the relationship he maintains with Lula is not "between governments."

In turn, he stressed that he has a friendly relationship with Bolsonaro.

In an interview with the newspaper

La Jornada

, the Brazilian praised López Obrador: "He has managed to assert Mexico's autonomy without creating antagonisms, contributing to a more balanced relationship on our continent, which is essential for Latin American development."

Lula plans to participate in a varied political agenda in Mexico.

Among the activities that he will have, there is a meeting with legislators in the Senate this Thursday and he will participate in an event with members of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the government party, among whom it is expected will be the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto Lopez.
