2022-03-02T11:12:44.245Z

In a series of tweets on Twitter, apparently written by his wife or lawyer, Alexei Navalny attacked: "Want to be a nation of peace" • "Putin is not Russia"

"Fear must be overcome and demand an end to the war":

Alexei Navalny, Russia's President Vladimir Putin's biggest opposition, addressed the war on Ukraine for the first time today (Wednesday) and called on the masses to come out and protest from his place of imprisonment.

"We, Russia, want to be a nation of peace. Unfortunately, too few people will call us that," Navalny tweeted.

"But let's at least not be a nation of quiet and frightened people. Of cowards who pretend not to pay attention to the aggressive war launched by a manifestly insane tsar."

Nabalani is serving a prison sentence in a penal colony in Vladimir district east of Moscow.

These days, inside the prison, a trial is being held against him in a new fabricated case.

The ones who are probably tweeting his name are his wife and lawyer who are allowed to visit him.

1/12 We - Russia - want to be a nation of peace.

Alas, few people would call us that now.

- Alexey Navalny (@navalny) March 2, 2022

Navalny added: "I can not, I do not want to and I will not be silent about watching how pseudo-historical nonsense about 100-year-old events (Putin's nonsense about the establishment of Ukraine; DB) became an excuse for Russians to kill Ukrainians, and Ukrainians to kill Russians in self-defense. "We are watching the news of people being burned in tanks and bombed-out homes. We are watching real threats to start a nuclear war on the TV channels. I myself am from the Soviet Union. I was born there. And the main sentence from my childhood was 'War for Peace'."

Navalny added: "I call on everyone to take to the streets and fight for peace. Putin is not Russia. And if there is one thing in Russia that one can be proud of right now, it is those 6,824 people who were arrested for taking to the streets without any prior warning." They say no. " That someone who can not get to the rally and does not risk arrest, can not call to take to the streets. I'm already in jail, so I think I can. You can organize a demonstration, do it on the weekend yes, maybe only when a few will arrive on the first day.and on the second day even less. But we must bite our lips and overcome the fear, go out and demand an end to the war.

"Every person arrested will have to be replaced by two who will take his place. If in order to stop the war we have to fill all the prisons and prostitutes ourselves, we will fill all the prisons ourselves. Everything has a price, and now, in the spring of 2022, we must pay that price. No one will do it for us. Let's not "be" against war. Let's fight against war! ".

Arrest of a demonstrator against the war in Russia,

Nabalani was poisoned in Germany and fell into a coma.

After waking up and with his return to Russia he was arrested.
