In this notice dated March 1, posted on the police.be website, it is specified that this armed robbery was committed by a group "

certainly composed of French, Belgians and probably Dutch

", which explains the mobilization of the authorities of these three countries in the investigation still in progress.

Ten people have been arrested since the events of May 19, 2021. But four men are still wanted, and only one of them has been identified.

This is Ibrahim Akhlal, a 26-year-old Belgian-Moroccan from Brussels, who is “

internationally reported

".

For the other three, a physical description and their attire that day is provided.

Shortly after the fact, they were filmed by CCTV cameras in a street in Rotterdam (Netherlands), where the group had a hideout.

The loot, estimated at 14 million euros

On other images, taken at the scene of the robbery, we see a dozen men in dark clothes, hooded and armed, emerging from three cars to rush into a garage where an armored van has just rushed.

Inside, an employee is knocked down and the robbers seize several small boxes and load them into the trunk of a car before fleeing, again according to these images which circulated again on Wednesday on Dutch media.

Two of the three cars had been chased the same afternoon by the Dutch police.

There followed an exchange of fire, then an exit from the road for one of the sedans of the fugitives.

One of them had died.

The incident had been widely followed on social networks and local media, fueled by videos shot by witnesses.

The loot was estimated at 14 million euros.

Most of it was quickly recovered.

Six suspects were arrested on the evening of May 19.

But precious metals worth "

more than four million euros

" are still missing, underlines the Belgian police.

In particular, she says she is looking for "

melted gold bars placed in a container

" and "

five barrels with a red lid containing a total of 80 kilos of platinum

".

In the batch of photos attached to the search notice is that of a dark blue BMW "

widely used by the gang during the preparations for the robbery

" in Belgium.

In addition to Rotterdam, the group had two hideouts in Antwerp and Zaventem, near Brussels, according to Belgian investigators.
