After the publication in "Israel Today": The director general of the President's House spoke with Rabbi Kanievsky's men to prevent unusual events on Friday at the Western Wall plaza • Rabbi's men: The reading is mainly for women who come to protest in prayer

In recent days, President Yitzhak Herzog has been working intensively to prevent an explosion at the Western Wall, ahead of Friday and Rosh Chodesh Adar prayers, which are expected to be led by leaders of the Reform and Conservative movements.

The President's instruction to his people is to act intensively on the issue, as he opposes the conflict in the Western Wall plaza, a place to which the eyes of the Jewish people are focused, and especially during this period, against the background of the war that broke out in Ukraine.

Yesterday it was reported in "Israel Today" that Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, the greatest of the ultra-Orthodox generation, is calling for protests against the arrival of members of the non-Orthodox movements at the Western Wall.

"The reformers are causing destruction to the people of Israel and the destruction of the Jewish people. Prayer must be shouted and their attempt to harm the sanctity of the Western Wall must be appeased in order to atone for the desecration of God that they are doing," he said in response to the question.

Following the publication, the CEO of the President's House, Eyal Shviki, who was appointed by Herzog to deal with the Western Wall outline and has so far succeeded in bringing about significant achievement between the parties, spoke with Rabbi Kanievsky's family members in order to calm down.

"Israel Today" learned that during the conversation, the people of the rabbi's house clarified that this is mainly a call for women who will come to protest in a manner of prayer and shouting, precisely so that things do not lead to violence.

Rabbi Kanievsky said that he calls for not being dragged into violence, but on the other hand he believes that "one should protest against the severe damage to the Western Wall in a dignified and proper manner, and sanctify heaven there."

"The rabbi warned not to be drawn into provocations, but in my opinion everything ultimately depends on the reformers and the women of the Western Wall," explains Kol Barama radio commentator Israel Cohen, who is close to Rabbi Kanievsky's house.

"If they try to force Torah scrolls in, then always someone on the sidelines can be dragged, so the hope is that the president, as everyone is acceptable, will be able to calm the spirits."
