The Supreme Investment Council conducted, during its meeting today, headed by Engineer Hussein Arnous, Prime Minister, following the implementation of the projects that obtained an investment license under the provisions of Law 18 of 2021, which in the current year numbered 10 projects at an estimated cost of 456 billion Syrian pounds, providing 959 job opportunities and included many vital sectors And the task of the national economy, while the total number reached 20 projects, worth 1200 billion pounds.

The council reviewed the stages reached by applications for investment licenses for a number of projects that include the manufacture of human medicines, medical supplies, infant formula, food, concertina, spinning, fabrics, feed and paints, in addition to projects related to the manufacture of excavators, metal wires, building materials and others.

Given the importance of the opportunities offered in the geology and mineral wealth sector, as they play an important and essential role in covering the local needs of materials needed in the reconstruction phase and in securing inputs for many priority sectors, the Council approved the investment opportunities offered in this sector and its procedural guide and considered them as part of the investment map National.

The council assigned the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment to identify sites in Tartous and Lattakia to create cities or industrial zones, and to secure partitions with sufficient areas for large investment projects by merging several partitions. The projects planned for the licenses to be canceled and put up again for investment. He also decided to form a committee to identify development areas and sectors targeted for development to be included in the investment map.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of expediting the expansion of the spatial committees in the governorates, increasing the number of their members, and coordinating with the Syrian Investment Authority and representatives of its ministries to decide on all applications submitted for obtaining investment licenses with full speed, and to overcome all obstacles in accordance with the investment law, its guiding guide, and the procedures in place and in accordance with the land use guide, and focus on Vital projects that give added value at the sectoral and national level.

The council agreed to grant two licenses for a project to manufacture dry food appetizers in the countryside of Damascus and a project for breeding and generating river and marine fish and crustaceans in basins and rivers in Hama Governorate, at a value of 9.4 billion pounds.

It also agreed to set up a special system for projects that are carried out based on the public authorities' offering of their private properties for investment with the private sector.
