At the Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05, 19 people were infected with the corona virus.

The club announced this on Thursday evening.

Those affected - players, coaches and team members - are fully immunized, it said in a statement.

The training planned for the afternoon has been canceled and all infected people have gone into domestic isolation.

Mainz – The people of Mainz had already caught a violent corona wave at the beginning of the season.

The ninth in the table should play against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday (3.30 p.m. / Sky).

We are in close contact with the Mainz health department and the German Football League (DFL) about how to proceed.

The players who tested negative completed individual training on Thursday.

Dortmund meanwhile assume that the game will take place on schedule.

"We have been informed by the DFL and the club about the corona situation at FSV Mainz 05.

We will continue to prepare professionally for the encounter.

As of now, we are assuming that the game can take place next Sunday," said the head of the licensed players department, Sebastian Kehl.
