Accidents involving aircraft, unfortunately, are not uncommon.
Along with the accident with Haifa last January, in which two Air Force pilots were killed, there have been a number of accidents around the world in recent months, including the crash of a British F-35 stealth aircraft.
But even in this area, it turns out, unfortunately, there are those who break records.
A Romanian MiG-21 fighter jet disappeared yesterday morning near the Mikhail Kogelnicano base, which is on the shores of the Black Sea.
The plane conducted an aerial patrol mission in the area, while the rest lost contact with the control tower.
The base, it should be noted, is the mother base of most of the United States military in Romania.
Twenty minutes after the plane disappeared, at 20:20, an IAR 330 helicopter set out on a rescue mission, and began searching for the fighter jet that had apparently crashed.
But twenty minutes after he set off, at 20:44, he also lost contact with the control tower and disappeared from the radar, after crashing.
At least seven people were killed in the double crash.
According to reports in Romania, the helicopter carried two people more than the standard device it is allowed to carry.
It was not immediately clear what happened to the fighter jet.
Surprisingly, there is a certain Israeli connection to the helicopter that crashed, this of course even though there was no connection between the crash and Israeli society.
In the 1990s, Elbit upgraded 24 Romanian army helicopters of this type.
It is not known if the helicopter was one of the upgraded aircraft.
