The Rilke-Gymnasium produced four radio programs about highlights along the Via Claudia in the Allgäu.

There's an award for that.

Icking - Actually, the P-Seminar of the Rainer-Maria-Rilke-Gymnasium in Icking wanted to cross the Alps on the Via Claudia in cooperation with the mountaineering department of the Bavarian Radio.

In connection with sports, journalism and Roman history, radio reports should be made in the summer of 2021 under the title "In the footsteps of the Romans".

The Via Claudia Augusta is one of the most important Roman roads, connecting northern Italy with Bavaria - an ancient cultural axis.

Four contributions produced with BR

The pandemic also thwarted the plan for this project.

However, no one was discouraged by this.

Instead, after some research and rescheduling, the students, together with Gabriele Schneider and the BR, produced four broadcasts about sporting and historical highlights along the Via Claudia in the Allgäu, which were broadcast in August 2021 on the backpack radio of the Bayerischer Rundfunk.

The seminar has now been voted one of the three best P seminars in the district of Upper Bavaria West for these radio reports and especially for the perseverance that the students have shown over a year and a half despite adverse circumstances.

"We are very happy about this and keep our fingers crossed for the decision at state level," explains headmaster Stefan Nirschl in a press release.

Online honor by Minister of State Piazolo

From the total of 24 preliminary round winners from the various districts, the four best P seminars at state level are determined.

These four teams will meet on March 18th in the presence of Minister of State Dr.

Michael Piazolo honored online with the P-Seminar Prize 2020/22.

The P-Seminar Prize is awarded annually by the Bavarian Ministry of Education and the three cooperation partners, the Association of Bavarian Business, the Educational Institute of Bavarian Business and the Eberhard von Kuenheim Foundation (BMW).
