An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit eastern Mexico, but no damage was reported.
The Mexican National Geological Observatory said today that the epicenter of the tremor was recorded at a depth of 113 km near the city of Isla in Veracruz state, 400 km south of the capital, Mexico.
In turn, Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum said that no damage was recorded in the city due to the tremor, while rescue services were conducting investigations.
Mexico is located in the Ring of Fire, where the confluence of tectonic plates leads to increased seismic activities.
