The strong winds that the country is witnessing today led to damage to the electrical network, trees and some other damages that were limited to materials in the governorates of Homs and Lattakia.
In Homs, the winds led to the collapse of a medium tension tower in the Tal Kalakh countryside, the interruption of electrical cables as a result of strong winds, and malfunctions on the medium tension line (Shin) and the medium tension line (Zafarana) in the western countryside of Homs.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Engineer Bassam Al-Rifai, director of the Homs Electricity Company, was assigned that strong winds caused the collapse of a medium tension tower in the Shabrounia area in Tal Kalakh countryside, where electricity workshops are currently working on repairing it.
Al-Rifai explained that the storm caused damage to a number of diseases in different areas and neighborhoods in the governorate, stressing that the workshops and cadres of the General Electricity Company of Homs are working around the clock to maintain all faults.
And Thabet Khaddour, head of the Shin Electricity Division, said that the strong winds caused malfunctions in several transfer centers in the town of Shain and its villages, such as the Ain Al-Shaqra transfer center, youth housing, industry, Kharifi and Al-Jabal, pointing out that since the beginning of the storm, the workshops have started maintenance and repair work, and they are now moving between the various fault areas to ensure that there is no interruption. In Lattakia Governorate, strong winds caused some damage to the electrical network and uprooted some trees.
Engineer Jaber Al-Assi, director of Latakia Electricity, said in a statement to SANA reporter that several electric poles fell on the southern corniche and at the end of the highway and in the villages of Al-Bassa, Fido and Al-Baraem. Trees fell on the low-current network in several villages, and wooden poles fell in the villages of (Al-Zuhairat, Basisin, Al-Insha’at, Al-Aidiya, Al-Burjan, and in Nahiyah). Al Fakhoura).
Al-Assi explained that the damage caused by trees falling on the tension line 66 in the Al-Basit area and the treatment of the faults caused by the cables cut on the lines of the village of Nakuru between the villages of Dabash and Al-Jubeiriya and near Al-Mahalba Castle and in Al-Fakhoura.
SANA reporter in Lattakia pointed out that a wall fell from a building under construction in the Jeb Hassan neighborhood of Latakia city, which damaged a van, and the winds led to the fall of one of the electric power towers in the village of Al-Bahloulia in Lattakia countryside, in addition to the fall and flying of a number of (satellite) dishes. .
In the city of Jableh, the engineer, Ahmed Qanadeel, head of the city council, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the strong winds led to the uprooting and fall of some trees, as the garden workshops in the city council collected and removed the remnants of the storm and cut the branches intertwined with the electrical network, in addition to the blowing of a number of (satellite) dishes, where Damage was limited to material.
The Directorate General of Meteorology expected in its bulletin today that winds will be active from northwest to southwesterly, with gusts exceeding 90 km per hour, causing dust in the eastern and Badia regions, and the sea with high waves.
