Daraa-Sana
Artists and musicians working in music in Daraa governorate believe that music will not reach the desired level of development in this governorate unless an academic institute is established to teach music on its origins.
The suffering of Daraa Governorate in this aspect is represented by the weakness of musical knowledge among young talents who, according to percussionist Muhammad Jabr, cannot find anyone to help them develop and refine their skills in order to achieve public success and fame.
Gabr, who studied percussion academically, talks in an interview with SANA Culture about the governorate’s richness in raw materials and educated cadres who, in his opinion, are capable of conveying musical science to those interested.
Gabr shows that amateurs have no idea about musical notes, maqamat, and musical sciences with their different names, and their understanding is limited to listening and imitation, which necessitates the launch of an institute to teach music on its origins.
The prevailing view of percussion about its role in the oriental musical ensemble compared to the rest of the instruments is refuted by the scientific and practical aspect, because our lyrical and instrumental music contains 100 rhythms that are unparalleled in other civilizations. For the band's work, it gives aesthetics to the music and achieves complete harmony between the two musicians.
Jabr, who has been living with rhythm for more than 40 years, aspires to spread this art to the younger generations according to its origins, especially those who have skills that need to be refined and developed.
Jabr aspires to achieve this dream out of concern for raw materials, especially those that have achieved success at the level of Syria, indicating that he had a five-year experience within the Seniors Club, which met with great success. to real art.
The artist, Jaber, was born in Daraa in 1965, and holds a certificate from the Higher Institute of Music.
