A baby fell from a bridge in Shamjing.
At about 5:32 a.m. today (April 4), the police received a report from a woman who claimed that her daughter, who was about two weeks old, had fallen from the footbridge outside Phase 3 of Wave Crest.
The baby girl was seriously injured and fell into a coma, but was still breathing at the time, and was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital by ambulance for rescue. The baby girl's father arrived at the hospital later to find out.
The police questioned the mother of the baby girl and traced the circumstances of the incident.
As seen at the scene, the pedestrian bridge involved can lead to the waterfront near Ma Wan Pier.
According to the news, the baby girl lived with her parents in Wave Crest Garden. When the incident happened, her father was asleep, and her mother took the baby out with her. When she walked to the end of the overpass near the sea, she suddenly pushed the baby girl out of the bridge and then went out. Letting go, the baby girl immediately fell 10 meters below the footpath near the sea.
Police are now investigating the incident based on whether the mother of the baby girl has postpartum depression and other mental states.
