In the Ukraine war, fighting for the Ukrainian capital Kyiv continues.

Heavy detonations occurred during the night.

Kyiv – Several heavy explosions occurred in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Thursday night.

Air alarm was triggered, as reported by the Unian agency.

Powerful detonations could be seen on videos on social networks.

Ukraine War: Heavy fighting in Kyiv

Massive explosions were heard around 4 a.m. local time.

Footage posted to Twitter showed two explosions lighting up the night sky.

The NBC broadcaster witnessed one of the heaviest explosions to date.

"What the hell was that?" the irritated reporter asked as a very bright explosion happened behind him.

A second bright flash followed immediately, followed by a loud explosion.

The NBC team then fled to safety.

Ukraine War: Shell lands south of Kyiv Central Station

Due to the heavy explosions, the residents of Kiev were called upon to seek shelter immediately.

At first it was unclear whether it was an air raid and what the goals could have been.

Already on Wednesday evening (March 2nd, 2022) there were new airstrikes in Kyiv.

According to the state-owned railway company Ukrsaliznytsia, a projectile struck south of Kyiv's main train station, "the station building withstood and was slightly damaged." At least one person was injured, and one man was taken to the hospital with a shrapnel wound to the leg, local authorities said with.

At the time of the attack, thousands of children and women were to be taken to safety by trains.

A video posted to social media showed smoke billowing near the tracks.

Train traffic continues, said Ukrsalisnytsia.

The Ministry of Defense is near the train station.

The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, wrote on the Telegram news channel: "The situation is complicated." Several explosions could be heard in Kyiv.

"Several cars caught fire." A police station was also damaged.

There was fighting in the northern suburbs, and a Russian plane was said to have been shot down.

Klitschko wrote on Telegram: "The enemy is trying to break through to the capital."

Ukraine war: Selenskyj continues to be combative

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj* continues to be combative in the face of the Russian invasion.

"They will not have peace here, they will not have food here, they will not have a quiet moment here," he said in a video message.

Occupiers would only get one thing from the Ukrainians: "Such fierce resistance that they will always remember that we will not give up what is ours." Selenskyj spoke of almost 9,000 Russians killed.
