After being rescued following the war in Ukraine by the secret service:
Rabbi Yehonatan Markovich, rabbi of Kiev, landed in Israel last night (Thursday) as part of a direct flight from Romania.
He was received, along with other refugees from Ukraine, at a warm welcome by Bnei Akiva students.
Earlier this week, we reported in "Israel Today" that Rabbi Markovich was rescued due to fears for him, which arose due to fears that conditions in Kiev had become dangerous for him and the Jewish community in the city.

Rabbi Ariel Markovich, the son of the mayor of Kyiv, said earlier this week: "One of the guards woke us up and told us to go down to the shelters because shots were heard, and immediately afterwards there were large explosions three blocks from the Chabad house.
A missile fell one kilometer away from us. "
