10,000 is the number of blood doses France needs every day.

In mid-February, the EFS had sounded the alarm regarding particularly low French stocks in blood reserve.
The pandemic has indeed generated cancellations of collections, in particular due to teleworking, and a lower mobilization of donors.
"Solidarity", "exemplary"
The wave related to the Omicron variant has added two critical elements: the self-deferral of some blood donors and a high rate of absenteeism of EFS staff.
However, red blood cells can only be stored for 42 days, and platelets only seven days.
At present, France has "
catastrophic reserves
", warns Nathalie Jaussaud.
The “

” of the ENSP was therefore welcomed with open arms.
For its part, the school management is delighted with the goodwill of its students and recalls that this blood donation operation reflects the values of "
solidarity
" and "
exemplarity
" of the ENSP, underlines Olivier Di Lullo, the Deputy Chief of Staff.
Such an initiative among the cadets and commissioners had not been seen for ten years, he underlines.
