Less than six months after the launch of its first Moscow edition, the Red Guide announces the end of its restaurant recommendations in Russia.

The launch of the first Michelin Guide in Russia, prepared for a long time, took place with great fanfare last October.

Thirty years after the fall of the USSR, Moscow thus earned its stripes of gastronomic capital, seeing 69 of its tables rewarded.

A recognition from which the capital of Russia expected a lot in terms of tourist numbers.

And which entered into a policy of expansion of the Red Guide on the globe, accelerated since the appointment of Gwendal Poullennec at its head.

It was also rumored that the guide planned to expand to St. Petersburg.

But the seriousness of the war in Ukraine put a stop to this development.

The Michelin Guide has just announced the suspension of all restaurant recommendation activities in Russia.

In addition, publications relating to the restaurants of the Moscow selection on our social networks, on our website and our application are also suspended.

the guide said in a statement.

“These decisions in no way call into question the talent of the chefs and teams of the 69 restaurants distinguished last October.”
