The Munich actor Daniel Flieger is known to a large audience through TV appearances.

In his house in Fürstenried he offers a room for Ukrainian refugees.

Munich – He has already appeared in Der Alte, SOKO Leipzig and the ARD crime scene: the Munich actor Daniel Flieger is known from roles in exciting TV productions.

But: Real life touches the heart much more than any television scene can.

Flieger was shocked when war broke out in Ukraine.

He wanted to stand by the people fleeing Putin's violence.

The actor now offers Ukrainian refugees a room in his Fürstenrieder house free of charge as temporary accommodation via a real estate platform.

Ukraine war: actor Daniel Flieger feels "helpless and privileged" - and offers rooms

“I feel helpless and privileged.

You have the feeling that you want to help in some way,” says Flieger when we reach him by phone.

The description of the online offer says: “Space for two to three people.

We are a family of four with two children.

We would like to share our living space with refugees from Ukraine.” The room measures 15 square meters.

The rent is one euro.

However, the price was only chosen in order to be able to publish the offer.

Accommodation is free for refugees.

The ad has been online since Friday morning - and there are several similar offers, which are also written in German, English and Ukrainian.

Since Friday, the real estate platform ImmoScout24 has enabled private individuals to advertise overnight accommodation for Ukrainian refugees free of charge.

The company passes on the offers to the needy free of charge via aid organizations.

“Russia's attack on Ukraine is a ruthless assault on a sovereign and democratic country in the heart of Europe.

As a company, we would like to help as much as possible to alleviate the suffering of the people affected and to offer refugees protection and safe accommodation," says an official statement from the management.

Ukraine conflict: Munich actor wants to help and offers rooms for refugees

Flieger, who comes from the former GDR, says: "The ad is just an attempt to give something back to someone else." When he was nine years old, the Wall fell.

“Back then, my father went to demonstrations in Leipzig every Monday.

Even then there could have been bloodshed.

Especially in the past few years, it is striking how many revolutions have been bloodily suppressed.

It shows what a miracle the peaceful revolution of 1989 was.

My life wouldn't be what it is today if things had gone differently," says the Munich actor.

As of Friday afternoon, there are currently 153 real estate offers for Ukrainian refugees on the online platform across Germany.

18 of them are from Bavaria, three from Munich.
