The branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation in Hama started offering 25 tons of the apple crop in its halls in the governorate, after it was borrowed from farmers.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Engineer Haider Al-Youssef, said in a statement to SANA reporter that apples were offered in the halls of Hama, Masyaf, Salmiya, Suqaylabiyah, and Muhradah, at lower prices than the local market, indicating that the apples are of the “Golden, Starken, and Muwashah” varieties, and they were imported directly from the farmers’ fields in each of the towns of Tin Al-Sabil And Berlin, Bashneen, and through the foundation's cars.
Al-Youssef pointed out that the Syrian branch of trade in Hama contributed positively to the marketing of citrus, as more than 130 tons of varieties of Abu Surra oranges, Javan oranges, lemons, pomelo, grapefruit and tangerine were imported from the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous.
