District – The König-Ludwig-Weg is dedicated to the memory of the Bavarian King Ludwig II.

The myth of the fairy tale king persists to this day.

Within a week, the Königsweg leads through one of the most beautiful landscapes in Bavaria or the whole of Germany from Starnberg to Füssen.

The new hiking guide "König-Ludwig-Weg" describes this 130-kilometer-long path, where you can hike in the footsteps of the fairytale king.

The Kreisbote Starnberg is giving away three free copies of the new publication.

In the footsteps of the "Fairy Tale King" you hike over gentle hills and past clear bathing lakes, always with promising views of the high mountains of the Allgäu Alps.

Impressive gorges such as the Maisinger gorge and Ammer gorge and the mystical moorland of the Pfaffenwinkel are among the hiking highlights.

The Wieskirche World Heritage Site and the Andechs, Wessobrunn, Rottenbuch and Steingaden monasteries offer special art-historical insights.

The path takes you over the Hohen Peißenberg to Füssen, past the legendary castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein.
