The Turkish regime authorities arrested 41 university students on the pretext of their association with the preacher Fethullah Gulen, whom Recep Tayyip Erdogan accuses of being behind the attempted coup against him in 2016.
The Turkish newspaper Zaman quoted the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office as saying that a decision was issued to arrest 41 university students in Istanbul on charges of belonging to the service movement led by Gulen.
After the extensive arrest campaigns against military personnel, teachers and others under the pretext of the attempted coup against Erdogan, the recent period witnessed an increasing campaign of repressive arrests of university students in Turkey.
