Roman Brodecki, the Israeli citizen who was killed while trying to escape from Ukraine, was laid to rest today (Sunday).

Dozens of friends and family came to the funeral, which took place in Arad, to accompany Roman on his final journey.



"A great tragedy happened in our family, but heavy, our son was killed in Ukraine," his beautiful father praised him in tears, "I want to thank all the residents of Israel for their support of us. "The great danger and moved his body. My dear child you were my whole world. I refuse to believe that I will not see you and hear your voice."

Yafim went on to say of his son, "You always tried to help us, and others, the elderly and everyone who needed it. You loved helping so much. I want to believe you hear me now. I am proud of you. I love you."



Brodecki, 41, was apparently shot by the Ukrainian army for misidentification near the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

According to the Foreign Ministry Brodecki traveled from Kiev to join the secure bus convoys, to depart from the state borders to Moldova.

This is the first case of an Israeli killed in the country since the beginning of the Russian invasion on Thursday.

The fighting is accompanied by conflicting reports from both sides, and the exact number of casualties is unclear.

The Ukrainian military says more than 11,000 Russian troops have been killed since the invasion began.

The military did not specify the number of casualties.

According to the latest update of the Russian Ministry of Defense, about 500 soldiers were killed in the fighting.
