Vladislav Roitberg, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky, welcomed this morning (Sunday) a conversation with 103FM about Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's mediation efforts, but expressed skepticism about the move.

"We are always open and believe in diplomacy and common sense. If it comes from Bennett or Erdogan or any other ruler - it is blessed. Time will tell if this move is indeed successful," Roitberg said.

Earlier Zalansky himself responded to his talks with Bennett tonight, saying the dialogue between the parties would continue.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the two spoke twice throughout the night, following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The prime minister also met at night with German Chancellor Olaf Schultz, and during his trip also spoke with French President Emanuel Macron.

"Any move of this kind is welcome," said the adviser to the Ukrainian president, but stressed that "we do not know why he [this move] was made," and wondered if it was related to "electoral or political reasons."

Roitberg said he met Bezlansky after learning of the meeting between Bennett and Putin, and attacked the latter.

"I think he is desperate at all. He is really insane anymore ... Putin is committing genocide," he said in response to a question about whether he thought the Russian president was desperate to advance negotiations to end the crisis.

"The move is welcome, but we do not know why it was done."

Roitberg said Ukraine does not see Israel taking a stand in favor of the Russian side in the conflict.

"We are not at this stage at the moment. What does the sentence say? 'Do not say hop before you jump,'" he clarified.

He claimed that the number of casualties in the Russian army reached about 11,000 soldiers.

"I do not understand why Putin sends his troops as cannon fodder? No one in the world would have believed that we would be able to hold 11 days and continue to hold most of Ukraine's territory," the adviser said. Russia".

During Saturday, Bennett secretly went to Moscow, landed at noon, and discussed with Putin for about three hours fighting in Ukraine and the possibility of a ceasefire.

At the end of the meeting, Bennett spoke with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zlansky.

The prime minister left Moscow for Berlin, where he met with German Chancellor Olaf Schultz, who visited Israel last week.

A political source said that Israel had updated the United States, Germany and France on Bennett's trip, and was in ongoing dialogue with Ukraine on the issue.

Bennett spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron before the meeting with Putin.

According to the source, the prime minister also spoke with the Russian president about the situation of Israelis and Jewish communities as a result of the conflict.

The meeting also discussed the progress of the nuclear talks in Vienna.

The Prime Minister expressed the position of Israel, which opposes the return to the nuclear agreement.

According to a statement from Bennett's office, the meeting with Schultz lasted about an hour and a half, and raised several issues, including the war between Russia and Ukraine.

On Tuesday, Bennett spoke with White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and informed him that he was flying to Moscow the next day for a meeting with Putin.

A source close to the details said that Bennett did not seek approval but only updated the National Security Adviser and that Sullivan did not object.

The source added that the White House has made it clear to the Prime Minister's Office that he is skeptical about the chances of influencing Putin's position.

The Prime Minister's Office, on the other hand, claims that the White House gave Bennett the blessing of the road.

During the fighting, Bennett spoke with both President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlansky.

A day after the talks, he called on world leaders to act quickly to end the war in Ukraine.

"Things are looking bad on the ground right now in Ukraine, but if world leaders do not act fast it could turn into a much worse situation," he warned.

"Not too late, the major players in the world must move both sides from the battlefield to the negotiating table."

Bennett offered Zalansky Israel's assistance "with all humanitarian aid," the prime minister's office said.

Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgeny Kornichuk said in a statement that they "discussed urgent humanitarian aid from Israel, and I am happy to say that we expect to receive it in the coming hours."
