Trees have been felled in several places in Poing.
In large numbers, for example, on Gruber Strasse and in the Mitterfeldring.
We explain the background.
Poing – Numerous trees have been felled on Gruber Straße, near the Anni Pickert school there.
In addition, part of the noise protection wall will be removed, Mayor Thomas Stark informed our newspaper when asked.
The measures involved preparatory work for the new swimming pool and the canteen, both of which will be built on the area south of the school building.
The opening of the swimming pool is planned for September 2024.
As reported, it is purely a teaching pool for schools and clubs, but it should also be accessible to the public at certain times/days (for an entrance fee).
The swimming pool will have a pool 25 meters long and 12.5 meters wide.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)
Mayor Stark also provided information about tree work in the Mitterfeldring at the most recent municipal council meeting.
A total of 18 trees affected by stick rot were felled there.

The preparations for the construction of the swimming pool and the canteen have begun.
Both will be built south of the Anni Pickert School (left).
The old caretaker's house (centre) will be demolished for this purpose.

In the announcement of the fellings in Mitterfeldring, the municipal administration writes: "We regret (...) that so many beautiful large trees had to disappear from our streetscape.
That's why we have already worked out various suggestions with the specialist departments and held on-site discussions about what replacement planting could look like.
The conversion into a so-called mixed tree avenue is currently being prepared and will be announced to the municipal council after completion.” The new planting is planned for autumn of this year or spring 2023.
As already reported, the clearing at the Westring/Bergfeldstraße crossing at the rainwater retention basin there has two reasons: On the one hand, the area is fenced off for safety reasons, on the other hand, a recycling island is being built at the point where the old construction containers are currently located.
