The protest rally in the Rottach spa complex initiated by Thomas Tomaschek (Greens) caused waves to run high in advance.
The demo is intended as a message to the oligarch Alisher Usmanov: Stop Putin!

Update, 4:33 p.m
.: The demo against Alischer Usmanov, the oligarch from Tegernsee, will start in half an hour.
We are live on site, just like many other media.
Rottach-Egern, 11:23 a.m .:
Thomas Tomaschek came up with the idea during a sleepless night.
"I thought about who could talk to Putin," says the Rottach municipal council and leader of the Greens.
The answer was literally close at hand.
The Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanow, who owns several villas in Rottach-Egern - we're talking about four - is considered a friend of Putin.
Tomaschek quickly organized a demo.
It should be a message to Usmanow, says Tomaschek.
It reads: "You're on the wrong side: stop Putin!" It's time for a clear signal to the Russians.
"He can't stand alongside a warmonger and then relax here on vacation."
Ukraine conflict: protest rally with three speakers at Tegernsee
The protest rally begins at
5 p.m. in the Rottach health resort
and is expected to last an hour.
Speakers will be
Anne Franke
, Member of Parliament for the Greens and her party's peace policy spokeswoman, the
Ukrainian Anton Yermenko
, formerly an editor in Kiev but now based in Munich, and Tomaschek himself.
The registered rally is scheduled to last until 6 p.m.
The plan to move directly to the lake in front of Usmanov's villa was dropped for security reasons.
There is simply more space at the spa complex.
Demo against oligarch Usmanow at Tegernsee: Huge response in advance
That will probably also be necessary.
Tomaschek has received e-mails and phone calls every minute since his call for a protest demonstration.
TV stations, newspapers and news magazines are reporting.
"I hope that in the end there will be no more press than demonstrators," says Tomaschek.
He prefers not to make predictions about how many people will come.
He hopes that Usmanov will get his message: "Putin can only be stopped from within." Usmanov could gather his oligarch friends around him and influence Putin.
Sanctions over Ukraine war: Usmanov speaks of "slanderous allegations"
It seems certain that Usmanow has left.
It was reported to Tomaschek today that the oligarch left the country on a plane.
Usmanov is resigning from his position as President of the World Fencing with immediate effect because of the sanctions imposed on him by the European Union.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, the 68-year-old Russian described the measures as unfair, reports the dpa news agency.
The reasons given to justify the EU's sanctions are "a series of false and defamatory allegations" that damage his honour, dignity and business reputation.
We will be there live from 5 p.m. and report here for you in pictures and text.
