The choice of words marks the spirits: Pope Francis lamented this Sunday "rivers of blood and tears" flowing in Ukraine after the Russian invasion and called for the establishment of humanitarian corridors.
“Rivers of blood and tears are flowing in Ukraine, this is not just a military operation but a war that sows death, destruction and misery,” he said after the prayer of the Angelus calling for the establishment of "true humanitarian corridors" to help the populations.

“The victims are more and more numerous, as are the people on the run, especially mothers and children.
The need for humanitarian assistance in this martyred country grows dramatically from hour to hour,” continued the Argentine pope, who repeatedly called for an end to the fighting in Ukraine.
Facilitate help
Many Ukrainian flags were also present among the faithful gathered in Saint Peter's Square to follow the Pope's Angelus.
“I appeal wholeheartedly to ensure that real humanitarian corridors are guaranteed and that aid is guaranteed and facilitated access to besieged areas to provide vital relief to our brothers and sisters oppressed by bombs and fear,” said launched Pope Francis.
No compromise with evil!

Let's look at Jesus who opposes the #WordofGod to the devil and defeats temptation.

“I implore that the armed attacks stop and that negotiations resume, common sense too, and that we start respecting international law again,” he added.
The Pope also thanked the journalists who "put their lives in danger" to inform the world about the events in Ukraine.
