At night, unknown persons start a crawler tractor in the gravel pit near Langengeisling and cause a lot of damage.

Owner Sepp Kaiser speaks of at least 3000 euros.

– "At least he didn't go into the water with the crawler." It could have been much worse on the area of his gravel pit between Langengeisling and Titkofen, but Sepp Kaiser was completely served.

On the night of Saturday, an unknown person gained access to the site, started one of the construction vehicles and caused property damage that Kaiser estimates at at least 3,000 euros.

"But I can't say it more precisely because I can't yet assess the damage that was done directly to the vehicles."

Gas cap and other covers were opened.

"I don't know yet whether something was filled in there." The incident must have happened between Friday, 6 p.m. and Saturday, 6 a.m., he suspects.

The stranger(s) destroyed the aluminum barrier, dragged a number of construction utensils through the gravel pit and knocked over a Dixi house.

According to Kaiser archaeologists, whose finds are to be presented to the public on Wednesday, had set this up.

Police are investigating trespassing and vandalism.

The stranger must also have special knowledge, Kaiser suspects: "You don't just drive a push crawler as a layman." The owner of the gravel pit says that one of the vehicles had already been moved last week.

But that does not necessarily have to have been the same perpetrator, the police heard yesterday.

It could also have got around among young people that these vehicles are here.

Incidentally, according to Kaiser, vehicle keys are relatively easy to find, “especially since the keys then often fit several vehicles.”

Kaiser hopes that there are still witnesses who saw the incident.

"Our gravel pit is relatively easy to see from the state road."
