The Parisian financial judge in charge of the investigation into the employment of assistants to Modem and UDF MEPs closed the investigations in this case on March 2, AFP learned on Monday from three sources close to the case, confirming information from the Parisian.

At least fifteen people, including François Bayrou, the former Keeper of the Seals Michel Mercier and the former MEPs Sylvie Goulard, Nathalie Griesbeck and Jean-Luc Bennahmias, but also the Modem and the UDF as legal persons, are already prosecuted in as part of this judicial investigation conducted since 2017 and relating to suspicions of embezzlement of European funds in order to pay employees for the benefit of the party.
