New Corona vaccine Novavax: Only one vaccination a day

Politicians had high hopes for the new protein-based vaccine.
But they will be disappointed.

The protein-based vaccine from the company Novavax, which has so far been intended to convince those unwilling to be vaccinated as an alternative to the mRNA agents against the corona virus, also got off to a false start in the Ebersberg district.

- "We vaccinate about one person every day," says Liam Klages, head of the vaccination center.
With the 50 to 100 vaccinations that his house currently carries out a day, this is almost negligible, you could say.
"Every injection helps," says Klages.
Demand is also slowed down by the fact that the drug is currently only available to a limited group of people: high-risk patients and those in the care sector who would be affected by the approaching occupational ban for unvaccinated people.
Apparently some skeptics: "They often come to us with a huge litany of questions," says Klages.
Vaccination center boss: “Probably released for everyone soon”
He assumes that the Novavax vaccine "Nuvaxovid" will be released as soon as possible for everyone who wants to be vaccinated.
Will demand then increase?
"I have no idea." It must be shown whether the people who say they are waiting for a dead vaccine mean it or don't want to be vaccinated at all.
It is currently annoying that an ampoule with eight doses is opened specifically for one dose per day.
"The rest then ends up in the garbage," complains the vaccination center boss and appeals to those who are entitled to be vaccinated: "Please just come by, even if you don't register!" At the end of the month, the branch office of the vaccination center in Poing will close.
Which capacities Ebersberg will keep available also depends on the demand generated by the Novavax release - and whether there is a rush for the vaccines against the Omicron variant, which will probably be available from May.
