Opinion | Women's Promotion: Let Men Be Partners | Israel today

2022-03-07T18:27:03.876Z

Absurdly, all too often precisely those who believe in advancing women do not always take care of it • True cooperation with men on gender lava issues will only do good with the revolution - because it is in the interest of us all

Promoting women to key positions is a necessary lever for the growth of our company.

True, women today occupy an important part of public discourse: they are surveyed, they dare to run and be elected to public office, and they quite naturally occupy a significant part of worlds that were once considered "masculine" - economics, law, industry and security.

The reality today is that no organization, authority or state can advance and reach their full potential without the real partnership of 51% of the population.

Providing equal opportunities for women and a safe space for young women and girls is not a right but a duty of every system that respects itself and thinks about its future.

But the real struggle is not just about breaking through glass ceilings;

These are breaking new news for the mornings.

The real struggle is to help women who have to struggle every day for their livelihood, their livelihood and their good oil.

Those who have to deal with domestic violence, economic violence or sexual violence just because of gender affiliation.

Here, too, we, the men, need to step in and harness ourselves to the struggle.

It is said that all a child needs is one person to believe in him.

This is also true of women in the State of Israel.

Quite a few talented women are left behind, and all they need is to be given an equal opportunity.

Absurdly, all too often, it is precisely those who believe in advancing women who do not always care to advance.

You’d be surprised, but men promote more women than ever before, including, more than women.

The Committee for the Advancement of Women in the Knesset is a good example of this.

In fact, her last two chairmen, MK Gideon Saar and Oded Forer, are considered the most attentive and proactive chairmen of the committee.

Dozens of women's organizations attending the Knesset in this committee will testify to this.

It does sound strange to place a man as chairman of such a committee, but in practice this has led to a good result: men who are aware of the importance of promoting women with an open mind, attention and execution abilities have taken up the position.

When looking for balance it should be two-sided.

Real change will only come about when men and women stand together for just social struggles.

It is an irony at its best that precisely on gender issues, such as domestic violence and sexual assault, men's voices are muted and sometimes they are excluded from the discourse.

It's a mistake.

When you want to understand the problem, research it in depth, from all sides, and recruit as many partners as possible along the way.

The male voice is an important voice in the solution.

It is a sound that can shed light on certain cases and prevent other cases.

This is the voice that women need to side with in struggle.

We're been here forever.

Help against you.

The world has undergone a revolution, and we want to be part of the revolution.

On International Women's Day 2022 we salute those who led the revolution, which has not yet been completed.

We will be by your side and become partners on the journey in the common journey, which is in the interest of us all, until the complete abolition of this day, because it will no longer be needed.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
