In Poing, the alcohol ban applies immediately from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the area of the market square, the S-Bahn station and the two city centers.
This extends the ban.
Poing – The municipality of Poing has extended the alcohol ban on the market square as well as in the area of the S--Bahn station and the city center.
From now on, no alcohol may be drunk in this area every day from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and no alcohol may be carried if it is intended for consumption there.
So far, the ban has applied from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
In its most recent meeting, the municipal council extended this period with a majority.

At the request of the municipal administration, the Poinger police had suggested in advance that the previous alcohol ban be extended.
Because the market square and its immediate surroundings were the focus of action in 2020 and 2021 for administrative offences, noise pollution and more - often from 6 p.m. and alcohol-related.
Alcohol is prohibited in the marked area from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The ban zone extends from the Vauhaus on Alte Gruber Strasse in the west to Plieninger Strasse in the east and from Gruber Strasse in the north to Bahnhofstrasse in the south.
There is a general exception for New Year's Eve, and the municipality can also issue partial or full exceptions to the ban in individual cases.
The violation of the alcohol ban is punished as an administrative offense and can be fined up to 1000 euros, according to the statute.
Alcohol ban also in children's playgrounds
The municipality of Poing first issued the alcohol ban ordinance in 2015, after several disturbances and damage to property by some heavily intoxicated people (mostly young people).
The municipality has also included the topic of alcohol in the new version of the plant statutes (this applies to all public areas and parks): Paragraph 3 ("Behaviour") states: "It is forbidden to bring alcoholic beverages or other intoxicating substances to children's playgrounds and/or to take.
The children’s playgrounds include, in particular, the seating there.”
There were problems related to alcohol in several serious disputes in Poing and Markt Schwaben last weekend.
