Publications of the Arab Writers Union through hundreds of titles in poetry, novels and political thought included in the book fair that opened at the Cultural Center in Kafr Sousa in Damascus.
Regarding the exhibition, the head of the Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, said, “We presented publications dating back to many years at very symbolic prices, and we sought to have these titles from different sects in order to appeal to the largest segment of the reading audience, with the presentation of number series for the six specialized magazines issued by the union.”
A member of the Executive Office of the Writers Union, supervising the literary exhibition, Riyad Tabra, indicated that this activity comes within the framework of cooperation with cultural institutions with the aim of expanding the target audience and introducing them to the publications of the Writers Union, whose distribution is usually limited to outlets specific to this institution.
Elsa Kassem, Head of the Cultural Center in Kafr Sousa, praised the center's hosting of the exhibition, as it is the first of its kind in years, and she hopes to repeat it periodically in the future.
