As always, the Rottach municipal council discussed the budget intensively.

The 2022 financial plan was approved unanimously at the public meeting.

Rottach-Egern –

When there were debates about Rottach's financial planning, they were conducted behind closed doors.

In its public meeting, Rottach-Egern's municipal council unanimously approved the 2022 budget without any critical debate.

As always, the budget had been thoroughly discussed in advance by the finance committee.

Chamberlain Martin Butz explained in advance that the administrative budget should be closed in terms of income and expenditure at 21,060,100 euros.

Here, 4.4 million euros in income tax, 3.8 million euros in trade tax, 1.6 million euros in second home tax and 1.8 million euros in property tax A and B can be expected.

The trade tax approach was deliberately chosen cautiously because of the corona pandemic and its economic consequences.

Need for clarification on sales tax in the spa sector

Personnel costs were estimated at around 3.7 million euros.

The district contribution for Rottach-Egern to the district of Miesbach is around 5.4 million euros.

The administrative and operating expenses, which are EUR 270,000 higher than in the previous year, are estimated at around EUR 5.3 million and include, among other things, an amount of EUR 500,000 for an outstanding case law and clarification with the tax authorities on sales tax in the spa sector.

Expenditure on Falianhaus and road rehabilitation

Altogether, this results in an allocation of 777,500 euros from the administrative budget to the property budget.

It should close with around four million euros in income and expenditure, with budget remnants of 4.13 million euros still available from 2021.

But since the redesign of the parking lot on Feldstraße (740,000 euros), the beginning of the renovation of the Falianhaus in Fürstenstraße (500,000 euros), the renovation of Auenstraße (235,000 euros plus 13,000 euros for the lighting) and the purchase of a tractor for the building yard (230,000 euros) larger expenses are to be expected, the asset budget is to be balanced with a withdrawal of around three million euros from the general reserve.

Chamberlain speaks of a solid household

"The total budget volume for administration and property budget is thus 25,068,100 euros," concluded Martin Butz and referred to the explanations of the budget estimates that he had presented to the council members in writing.

The municipality's debt as of January 1, 2022 was EUR 3,743,000 and, after the targeted repayments of EUR 155,000, should be EUR 3,588,000 by the end of the year.

From the treasurer's point of view, the financial situation of the community is "solid": "The financial plan up to 2025 includes the projects that have been initiated to date, such as the demolition of the old town hall and the construction of a new one, the community halls in Haslau and the renovation and redesign of the Falianhaus without further borrowing.

The unanimous vote and the thanks of Deputy Mayor Josef Lang (CSU) gave Chamberlain Butz right.

"It's a solid financial plan that also gives the community a roadmap for the year ahead," Lang concluded.
