Two soldiers were killed and four other UN peacekeepers were wounded when an explosive device exploded in Mopti, central Mali.

"A logistical convoy of the mission collided with an improvised explosive device in the north of Mopti, killing two peacekeepers and wounding four others," Olivier Salgado, spokesman for the UN mission in Mali, told AFP.

On the fourth of this month, 27 soldiers were killed as a result of an attack by armed men on an army camp in central Mali.

Since 2012, Mali has been witnessing a state of instability due to armed terrorist groups affiliated with Al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists operating in the Triangle border region with Niger and Burkina Faso.
