The Hang Seng Index closed at 21,174 points at night, up 274 points or 1.31%, 116 points above water.

The Hong Kong stock market once lost more than a thousand points today, and it still closed down 847 points or 3.87%.

Oil and gold prices converged in European trading hours, with New York oil futures last at $122.34 a barrel, up 5.76%, and Brent oil at $124.72, up 5.6%.

In terms of gold prices, New York gold futures were last at $2,002.8 an ounce, up 1.8%, and spot gold was last at $1,999.66, up 1.5%.

The German stock market fell 405 points or .31%2 to 12689 points, the French CAC index reported 5899 points, down 162 points or 2.68%, and the British FTSE index reported 6877 points, down 109 points or 1.6%.

As for Italian and Spanish stocks, they fell 2.1% and 2.8% respectively.

The three major U.S. index futures also fell. Dow futures fell 447 points to 33,167 points, S&P futures fell 60 points to 4,268 points, and Nasdaq futures reported 13,626 points, down 211 points.

Investors parked their funds in U.S. dollar assets, with the U.S. dollar index last at 99.22, up 0.58%.

As for the U.S. bond interest rate, the yield rate of the 10-year Treasury bond was 1.741%.
