Against the background of the difficult war in Ukraine, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Ivgen Kornichuk is holding a press conference in Tel Aviv today (Monday).
In his opening remarks, the Ambassador thanked Prime Minister Naftali Bennett for his efforts to mediate between Russia and Ukraine.
In addition, thanked for the humanitarian equipment and the establishment of a field hospital in Ukraine.
"We do not know if it will work, but the fact that the prime minister left on Saturday is unprecedented and I do not remember such a thing ever happening. We must work in every way to achieve peace, for me as ambassador it is very important," Kornichuk said.
"We admire Israel's support, people are helping in every way possible and over 400 tons of equipment have been collected," he said, adding: "Please wait with the donations because we have nowhere to put them anymore."
At the same time, he stung the government when it came to absorbing refugees.
"So far the European countries have absorbed 1.5 Ukrainians, including indigenous schools, and we believe Israel will show such solidarity as well," Kornichuk said.
Recall that a week ago the ambassador held a press conference, in which he said that the situation in Ukraine is difficult and the country needs protective equipment or medical care.
Kornichuk said he admired the Israeli government's decision to send 100 tons of humanitarian aid, but they needed more.
Meanwhile, a US security source estimated that 95% of all the troops Russia had assigned to invade Ukraine were already deployed in the country, and that the Russians had fired about 600 missiles since the fighting began.
