A Bavarian wildlife park reacts to the Ukraine war.

Boar Putin is renamed.

One name suggestion dominates among the park's Facebook followers.

Mehlmeisel - "Serious changes in the Mehlmeisel wildlife park," says the latest Facebook post from the wildlife park in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth.

The reason for this is the Ukraine conflict, which has escalated into a war, because: almost three years ago, a small male wild boar arrived there.

"Even then it was something special, as it weighed almost three times as much as its European conspecifics".

The Facebook post then goes into this specifically: "The reason for this is his Russian descent, whereupon the operator of the wildlife park Mickisch named him after the Russian President Putin."

The wild boar now weighs almost 200 kilos.

During the daily tours, the “gang of pigs” are introduced by name, as is Putin.

"However, now the operator Mickisch gets shivers down his spine when he mentions the name 'Putin' and he came to the conclusion that no pig deserved the name of this inhuman creep."

That's why the decision was made: "Putin's name has to go!" This is the first change of name in the history of the wildlife park.

Everyone - big and small - is now called upon to help with the naming process.

"Anyone whose proposal is accepted beckons a day as the companion of the animal keepers behind the scenes," reads the Facebook post.

There are already numerous suggestions in the comments: "I would think it would be great if the boar was named after the President of Ukraine: Volodymyr or Zelenskyy".

This name is mentioned quite often.

Other people suggest "Hope, for hope" or "Myr-peace".

The name "Klitschko" is also mentioned several times.
