Women's Day marches in Colombia: cities, routes and schedules

This is the programming of the Women's Day marches in Colombia. Several feminist groups have called for mobilizations throughout the country.

Feminist groups have called on women to join the Women's Day marches on March 8 in several cities in Colombia.

Women's Day marches in Bogotá

In Bogotá, marches are expected for March 8 at various meeting points.

One of them is at the headquarters of the National University on Calle 26 at 2 pm.

The Radical Feminist Block organization convened only women (they warn that it is a "non-mixed space") and that they dress in black clothes.

The 24 for Colombia collective also convened in the capital, together with the Green Tide, a concentration in the Planetarium of Bogota (on Calle 26 con 5) starting at 1 pm to later join the mobilization convened from 3 pm at the Peace and Reconciliation Memory Center to later move to the Plaza de La Hoja in downtown Bogotá.

The organization Somos un Rostro Colectivo convenes a demonstration at the Peace and Reconciliation Memory Center starting at 3 pm that will then go to the Plaza de la Hoja in downtown Bogotá.

Women's Day marches in Medellín

Feminist groups in Medellín also called a demonstration on the occasion of 8M and several points have already been set up in the city where thousands of women are expected to attend these mobilizations.

The organization "Together we are tide" has a list of concentration points in Medellín for this March 8:

- Parque de la Resistencia — 2 pm


- Parque San Antonio — 3:30 pm


- Plazuela de San Ignacio — 4:00 pm

And the arrival will be at the Pablo Tobón Uribe municipal theater in the center of Medellín.

The march aims to "celebrate that it is now a right to decide on our bodies and motherhood, and to continue claiming for all those that sexist violence has taken from us, to demand a life with dignity and freedom that we still do not have," says the announcement.

The Medellin Women's Work Table called for this 8M a mobilization in the streets for Women's Day and at the end of the day a "feminist concert".

The activities will be from 5:30 pm to 8:30 in the capital of Antioquia.

Marches in Cali

The Tamboras insurrectas organization called a march in Cali "against femicides, colonial crimes, and in defense of our sexual and reproductive rights," says the call.

The appointment is in the Parque de las Banderas at 4 pm The march will depart towards the sector known as La gruta.
