Entry, tests, return: These are the current corona rules for vacations in Turkey

In 2022, many Germans want to vacation in Turkey again.

Turkey is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Germans.

After two years of the corona pandemic, many Germans are ready for vacation: This is also confirmed by many online booking portals, which received many early bookings for the coming travel season* at the beginning of the year.

Turkey has long been one of the most popular travel destinations for sun-seeking Germans - and the signs are also good from the point of view of the pandemic.
The
7-day incidence
has fallen steadily in Turkey in recent weeks and is currently at 351.3 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
For comparison: In Germany it recently rose to a value of 1,259.2.
Apart from that, many entry rules have also been relaxed.
We have summarized what currently applies to holidays in Turkey.
Entry into Turkey: These are the current Corona rules
Anyone wishing to enter Turkey must fill out an electronic form from the Turkish Health Department within 72 hours prior to entry.
It is checked either upon entry or at check-in.
There is an exception for transit passengers and children under the age of 12.
The so-called
HES code
, which was previously mandatory for entry, is no longer necessary.
In addition, all travelers aged 12 and over must present proof of either vaccination, convalescence or a test.
The following requirements apply:
Vaccination certificate
: full vaccination (minimum two doses of vaccine/single dose at Johnson&Johnson, at least 14 days prior to arrival)
Proof
of recovery : official documentation of recovery from a Covid-19 infection no more than six months ago.
Test evidence
: a negative PCR test result that is no more than 72 hours old, or a negative rapid antigen test result that is no more than 48 hours old

These Corona rules apply in Turkey
As the Federal Foreign Office has informed, there are currently
no longer any access restrictions
in Turkey.
This means that no 3G proof is required when visiting a restaurant or hotel.
However, depending on the infection process, stricter measures can be reintroduced at any time.
In addition, it is currently still recommended to keep a
minimum distance of three steps
from other people.
Masks are
compulsory
in public, closed rooms without sufficient ventilation and distance possibility as well as on public transport.
The rules should be followed carefully, as fines may be imposed for violations.

What applies to the return journey from Turkey?
The federal government recently removed all countries from the list of corona high-risk areas.
This means that travelers returning from Turkey do not have to carry out a digital entry registration and there is also no quarantine obligation for unvaccinated people with a test.
In general, however, there is an obligation to submit proof within the meaning of the 3G rule.
So you need a vaccination certificate, proof of recovery or a negative corona test.
Rapid PCR and antigen tests that are no more than 48 hours old are accepted.
