As the women of the world celebrate on the eighth of March International Women’s Day, the suffering of Palestinian women is exacerbated as a result of the practices of the Israeli occupation. Although many of them suffer from chronic diseases and urgently need treatment.

In a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Palestinian Prisoners Club stated that the Israeli occupation continues to detain 32 Palestinian women in the Damon prison, including 11 mothers and the girl Nafth Hammad, 15 years old, and 6 wounded women who have been subjected to the worst types of psychological and physical torture since the moment of their arrest, pointing out that the suffering of wounded and sick female prisoners and in Their leader, Israa Al-Jaabis, is constantly aggravating as a result of deliberate medical neglect against them.

The club indicated that the prisoner Jaabis needs a series of surgeries in the hands, ears and face, and she is in dire need of a special suit for treating burns, appealing to the international organizations concerned with the affairs of prisoners to pressure the occupation to stop its violations of the rights of female prisoners and all Palestinian prisoners in its prisons.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs Amal Hamad said that Palestinian women stand side by side with men in the battle against the occupation, which violates all Palestinian women's rights, calling on all women of the world to stand by Palestinian women and end their suffering and shed light on the violations of the occupation against women Palestinian women, particularly female prisoners, are subjected to various types of torture inside prisons.

Human rights researcher Hussein Hammad stated that since the eighth of last March, 60 Palestinian women have been martyred, including 22 girls, and 645 were injured as a result of the occupation’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the liberated captive, Maryam Abu Daqqa, indicated that all women in the world celebrate their day, except for the Palestinian woman who lives under the most dangerous and ugliest occupation that has practiced racial discrimination and persecution against her for 74 years. Their right to torture in horrific ways, in flagrant violation of all international norms and laws.

Abu Daqqa confirmed that the Palestinian woman is actively participating in the process of national liberation to resist this occupation, and this is what is happening in all of Palestine in terms of the stability of Palestinian women despite all the aggressive practices of the occupation.

For his part, Mahmoud Khalaf, a member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, stressed that the Palestinian woman set an example in sacrifice and redemption in order to defend Palestine, and she is the icon of struggle, steadfastness, and resistance to the occupation, which committed crimes against Palestinian women through field executions and brutal attacks that resulted in the martyrdom of hundreds of them.

Khalaf warned of the deterioration of the conditions of female prisoners inside the occupation's prisons, especially the wounded and sick, calling on the international community to urgently intervene and pressure the occupation to release them and support Palestinian women in their battle against the brutal occupation.
