The Observatory predicts that under the influence of the northeast monsoon, the weather in southern China will be generally sunny and cool in the morning in the next day or two.


The Observatory expects that the monsoon will ease later this week and be gradually replaced by a warm oceanic airstream. The coastal areas of Guangdong are expected to be humid and foggy with more clouds early next week.

According to the Observatory's nine-day weather forecast, it will be humid and foggy for five consecutive days from next Sunday (13th), and the relative humidity will reach 100% next Monday (14th), so the dehumidifier may be dispatched when necessary.

Many districts in the New Territories cooled to freezing levels this morning

The weather was cool this morning, with the Observatory recording a minimum of 15 degrees in the urban area; many districts in the New Territories reached even colder levels, among which Tsuen Wan, Shek Kong and Pak Tam Chung had a minimum of about 11 degrees, Ta Kwu Ling was only 9.7 degrees, and Tai Mo Shan was also low. 6.3 degrees.

The temperature in the urban area ranges from 16 to 23 degrees, with a temperature difference of 7 degrees; and in many districts in the New Territories, including Sheung Shui and Tai Po, the minimum temperature is expected to be only 14 degrees, and Ta Kwu Ling may drop to 13 degrees.

The Observatory also expects that it will be warmer as soon as Friday (11th), and it is predicted that there will be sunshine for part of the day, and the temperature is expected to rise to 18 to 24 degrees.

Wet, foggy, warm days early next week

The Observatory also expects that the temperature will continue to rise next week, and it is forecast to be humid and foggy at the beginning of next week and warm during the day.

Next Sunday (13th) will be mostly cloudy with light rain and mist in the morning and evening. The temperature will be between 19 and 25 degrees, which is quite warm.

Next Monday (14th) and Tuesday (15th) will be humid and foggy, with short periods of sunshine during the day, and the relative humidity on the two days is also expected to reach 80 to 100%.

The wet weather will continue until next Thursday (17th), and the observatory is expected to be mostly cloudy next Thursday with a few rain patches and mist in the morning and evening.
