The General Directorate of Meteorology indicated that the country is affected tomorrow evening by a cold polar air mass that affects the eastern Mediterranean regions on Thursday and Friday, warning of activity in the speed of southwest winds, as the speed of gusts exceeds 85 kilometers per hour, starting from Thursday evening until the evening of next Friday.
In a statement to SANA, meteorologist Kenaz Kiwan indicated that a state of instability prevails with an air depression from the south that affects tonight and tomorrow morning the southern and southwestern regions with rain showers accompanied by thunder sometimes until the afternoon hours, while the winds remain southeasterly with misty atmosphere in The eastern regions turn in the hours of Wednesday evening into southwestern currents.
Kiwan pointed out that the weather on Thursday and Friday is expected to be cloudy and rainy at times, with heavy precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms on coastal areas and snow on high and medium mountain heights during the evening hours. Snow over areas that exceed 1200 meters and mixed with rain below that, and the speed of winds associated with severe gusts exceeds 85 km/h on Friday morning, and the sea is high in waves.
He stated that the weather on Friday evening turns to be very cold, especially in mountainous areas, and a state of air stability is expected to prevail at the beginning of next week, but the weather remains cold, with a warning of the formation of ice and frost on mountainous areas.
