Markt Schwaben – The corona pandemic in particular has shown us in many places how important and valuable mutual help is.

But often it is "only" the small, inconspicuous things that make a big difference.

Be it the care of children or parents in case of illness or urgent appointments.

Or the quiet neighbor who collects the rubbish on the street without making a fuss.

But maybe also the former sports teacher who trains with the young people on the sports field every weekend;

the single woman knitting socks for the seniors in the nursing home.

Or, or, or...

In order to thank the many helpful people in our town and to be able to show them appreciation, we created the Markt Schwaben honorary award and would like to award it for the first time in 2022.

There are no strict criteria for this: the only important thing is that the person is involved voluntarily and unpaid in Markt Schwaben.

Groups or clubs are also welcome to propose people from their own ranks.

But it's not just about volunteer helpers.

Of course, we also think of people who do outstanding things without being a permanent member of a club or institution.

To underline the special character, we want to honor up to three dedicated people with a prize in the form of a work of art.

So much can be revealed: the work of art is created by artists associated with our community.

The honorary award winners are determined by a selection process by an independent committee, which includes the Mayor Michael Stolze and, at the suggestion of the municipal council groups Sandra Mayr, Peter Fleischer, Cornelia Hermansdorfer, Bruno Kukla and Bernhard Winter.

The award ceremony takes place during the annual public meeting.

All citizens, as well as clubs, associations and organizations from Markt Schwaben can submit the proposals online, by e-mail, by post or in person.

By e-mail to: poststelle@ markt-schwaben.de, subject: honorary prize.

Alternatively, you can use the contact form on our website: www.
