Women's Day is a one-day ghetto. Do not celebrate me - Walla! news

It's tempting to have a whole day where everyone talks about you and makes you a queen. But we all know the truth: all this "terror" has no real meaning, beyond economic gain and washing away with the disinfectant of the conscience. One day is not enough, we women tomorrow too, and all year round

Women's Day is a one-day ghetto.

Do not celebrate me

It's tempting to have a whole day where everyone talks about you and makes you a queen.

But we all know the truth: all this "terror" has no real meaning, beyond economic gain and washing away with the disinfectant of the conscience.

One day is not enough, we women tomorrow too, and all year round

Thank you so much for the goodwill, but do not celebrate me today.

Tempting to have a whole day where everyone talks about you, offers you crazy deals in stores, buys you a cute gift or a bouquet of flowers, makes you a queen for one day.

But you too know that all this tremor has no real meaning, beyond economic gain and washing away with the disinfectant of the conscience.

Do not celebrate "Women's Day" for me today, no need.

Do not give me violets like in Russia, or demonstrate in the name of my rights.

Do not put me in the ghetto of one day where you will seriously discuss a scholar why in 2022 I am still discriminated against, right, less than at the beginning of the 20th century, because then also we were not allowed to vote, but I am still 33% behind in pay compared to my male colleagues , Concrete ceilings hang over my head and block the vision and growth up, and if sometimes someone manages to crack them a little, everyone marvels at the masculinity and forcefulness she displayed on the way there.

Every day I struggle to stay safe.

One day is not enough.

I am a woman all year round, and every day I struggle to maintain my personal safety at home and abroad, not to be a victim of abuse, not to let others belittle me, step on me or say, "what does she even understand", when I have a solid opinion on something, in a forum of men who know Everything is much better than me, without having a quarter of my skills and experience.

Leave you with celebrations.

Celebrate with me every day and maybe on the way also give up the blessing, "Blessed are I who do not smoke a woman", which is said in prayer as if without intention, and receives interpretations that make it something that takes her away from the simple truth: forever.

A woman, must always do a little more, put in more effort, show that she is capable.

Even a little sad

I have no desire to fence off my engagement in one day.

It is so characteristic of women to be crammed into a corner, to give up space and needs for the benefit of children, spouse, work and the world, that they come first and then, that is how we were educated.

And this is not a reason for celebrations but for a real, poignant and indefinite mental account of all of you.

I torment him enough.

I want to be a person, with skills and abilities, not measured by a constricted cultural bar, but by universal standards, whose specific weights will not be reduced in advance because of my gender compared to others.

Celebrate my life the way I am in a decent, worthwhile way, that respects me, that gives me the opportunities I deserve.

So excuse me if I'm not celebrating today.

On the contrary, I'm even a little sad.
