The fifth wave of the new crown epidemic in Hong Kong is severe, and the authorities have tightened epidemic prevention measures and prohibited crowds from gathering.
The day before yesterday (6th), a citizen noticed that there were many people playing in the basketball court of Wong Tai Sin Fung Diamond Court, so they reported it to the police.
It is understood that three plainclothes police officers arrived at the scene to investigate and drive them away, but a pair of 15-year-old and 13-year-old brothers did not leave immediately because their basketballs were stuck on the basketball hoop, and were stopped by the police for investigation.
During this period, the plainclothes police had a dispute with the 15-year-old boy, and they subdued the boy on the ground for allegedly assaulting the police.
Afterwards, the police also charged the brothers for violating ticket No. 599G.
The police responded to the inquiries of "Hong Kong 01" that they received a report at about 5 pm the day before yesterday (6th) that a number of people gathered at the Fung Diamond Court basketball court, 80 Po Kong Village Road, Wong Tai Sin, and some of them were suspected of not wearing masks.
When the police arrived at the scene, the people at the scene dispersed immediately. The police then stopped two of the men for investigation. One of the men was emotional and attacked the two police officers with his hands.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and has been released on bail pending investigation. He must report to the police in early April.
He and the other man who was stopped were also suspected of contravening the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition on Gathering) Regulation (Cap. 599G) and fixed penalty notices were issued to them.
The case was handed over to the sixth team of Wong Tai Sin District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
