For the new FOS in Oberhaching, the district is already building precursor classes from the 2022/23 school year - in Holzkirchen.

District

– The district of Munich is setting up preliminary classes in Holzkirchen for the new technical college (FOS) in Oberhaching and is bearing the costs for the containers.

The district administrators of Munich and Miesbach have agreed on a path that has now also been approved by the district committee for construction.

The FOS Holzkirchen is reaching its capacity limits, but does not want to turn down any students from the district of Munich until the FOS Oberhaching is operational.

The district of Miesbach will therefore provide a piece of land on the school grounds as a container location from the 2022/23 school year.

The district of Munich bears the rental costs for four wooden modules, in which the preliminary classes for the new FOS Oberhaching will be taught, probably 120 students.

The school association in the south of the district of Munich will probably order IT equipment and furniture, which will later be taken to the new school building in Oberhaching.

The district committee has spoken out in favor of the district of Munich bearing the container rent of 640,000 euros for three years.

A discussion preceded the unanimous decision.

Brunnthal's Mayor Stefan Kern (CSU): "Munich also sends students to us," he has never heard of the state capital contributing to rental or construction costs.

Otto Bussjäger (FW), who chaired the meeting, sees a benefit for both districts: "If Holzkirchen rejects the students, they are distributed in Munich." They were missing when the FOS was opened in Oberhaching.

If the district of Munich wanted to house the students in Oberhaching, they would have to cover land costs in addition to containers.

However, the neighboring district made the property available.
