The head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin called on the investigators to open a criminal case related to data on the development of biological weapons in Ukraine.
Today, Sputnik quoted the press service of the Investigative Committee as saying, “There is more information confirming the development of biological weapons in Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported the existence of a network in Ukraine and dozens of biological laboratories funded from abroad. The United States also confirmed the existence of biological research facilities.” in Ukraine".
"All of this may point to a violation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Biological Weapons," she added.
The provisions of this Convention establish the obligations of states under any circumstances not to develop microbiology, biological agents or toxins that are not intended for preventive or other peaceful purposes.
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed today that the data regarding the presence of US biological laboratories in Ukraine completely changes the image and allegations of Washington's non-participation in incitement and action against Russia, considering that this represents a direct threat tool to Moscow.
