"That has to change immediately": Free voter politician Fabian Mehring finds the circumstances under which refugees from Ukraine are accommodated at the main station inadequate.

Munich – The high number of Ukrainian war refugees obviously overwhelms the reception and accommodation concept at Munich Central Station*.

“In fact, everything is missing: from electricity to toilets to sleeping accommodation.

The fact that people who had to flee from the hail of bombs in their home country have to sleep on the floor of the train station in our state capital is shameful and must change immediately," Fabian Mehring, parliamentary manager of the Free Voters in the Bavarian state parliament, told the German press on Wednesday agency in Munich.

He had previously made his own picture of the situation at the station.

Munich Central Station: Refugees from Ukraine must probably sleep on the floor

"During Corona, we successfully saved lives in Bavaria and protected the people in our homeland well.

The credo of “whatever it takes” that was formulated must now also apply to those people who are experiencing indescribable suffering as a result of Putin's attack on Ukraine and who are looking to us for help,” emphasized Mehring.

Last but not least, the people in Bavaria, who are currently experiencing a gigantic wave of helpfulness, would also like this.

Unfortunately, the current situation at Munich Central Station does not live up to this claim.

Arrival of refugees from Ukraine: Munich less prepared than other cities?

"In view of the experiences from 2015, it must not happen again that the gigantic solidarity of the citizens is torpedoed by political chaos and that the mood is upset," said Mehring.

The state capital Munich* must also “contribute its mite, which unfortunately currently lags far behind the level of organization in other cities and the demands of the people in Bavaria”.
