SpaceX launches 48 satellites - CEO Musk digs at Russian space chief

In the midst of the Ukraine war, SpaceX launches 48 more Starlink satellites into space - and there are digs at Russia.

Florida - "Time to let the American broom fly and hear the sound of freedom." According to several media reports, this is said to have been the statement of a SpaceX employee shortly before the company's rocket was launched from an air force base in Florida - during Ukraine -Russia's war is raging nearly 10,000 kilometers away.

The comment is apparently a dig at past hostilities by the head of the Russian space agency Roskosmos, Dmitry Rogozin.

Based on the alleged dependence of the USA on imports from Russia, the latter had thundered that they could fly into space on broomsticks.

Successful launch of 48 new Starlink internet satellites

A Falcon 9 rocket launched the 48 Starlink Internet satellites into orbit in Florida on Wednesday morning (local time).

According to several reports, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also followed Rogozin's comments and described the Falcon 9 rocket as a reliable "American broomstick".

SpaceX has provided the Ukrainian government with Starlink ground terminals to use in defense during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk explained on Twitter that the conflict has left Starlink teams focused on "cyber defense and overcoming signal interference."
